About Us

Launching Southeast Coast Marine Group was a long-time dream of founder Gordon S. ("Stonie") Glenn who has always wanted to "work at what you love the most".  He has been "boat crazy" since he discovered the Chesapeake Bay in 1985 and bought his first "real" boat, a Tiara 3100 Open.   Since then Stonie has owned seven different boats from a 33' twin-outboard sport fisherman to a 43' twin-diesel convertible and operated them from Maryland to Florida as well as at Lake Texoma on the Texas/Oklahoma border.  Prior to founding SE Coast Marine, Stonie was the CEO of two very successful, publicly-traded information technology firms.

Stonie first met Great Lakes Yacht Brokers (GLYB) owner Jeff Swift in 2006 when Jeff called him out of the blue to ask if he could assist in selling Stonie's 40' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge that Jeff had seen advertised.  Within a month, Jeff found a buyer in Australia who bought the boat and had it shipped to Sydney!!  A few years later, Jeff also sold Stonie's Tiara 4300 Sovran for the asking price during a very tough market!!!  Stonie was so impressed with Jeff's professionalism, integrity and capability that when he retired from the corporate world, he called Jeff and asked if he would sponsor him as a yacht broker.  Jeff introduced him to Capt. Berny Coffey, owner of World Maritime Exchange/WME Yachts, and Berny offered to make SE Coast Marine an affiliate of WME.  Today, SE Coast Marine and WME work as a team with a network of over 30 brokers across the country and have listings for almost 1,000 yachts!

SE Coast Marine Group operates out of beautiful Jacksonville, FL...the new (don't tell anyone) "Yachting Capital of the World".  To heck with Ft. Lauderdale, we have a huge deep-water port with an all-weather inlet at the mouth of the St. Johns River, great cruising grounds north and south on the Intracoastal (as well as 160 miles up the river), and excellent inshore and blue water fishing.  Add great weather with seasons, affordable housing, an up and coming NFL team (Jacksonville Jaguars!) and some of the prettiest beaches in Florida, then you have a boating destination that you will want to come visit and hopefully to stay and live!!
